Thanks for the hint. The file is .cshrc and I have set the path in that file. This seems to have no effect in this particular flavor of *Nix. I have used the csh shell in Redhat and Solaris and the setting the path in the .cshrc has always worked as expected.

The frustrating thing is that the "set" command reports the path as being set correctly but the commands are not found by the OS.

And, lets remember, principles before personalities when trying to help out a newbie. Comments about centuries are not helpful.

Geez - been a VERY long time since I mucked with csh - BUT - if I remember
corruptly, there is a means by which to tailor the shell and it's
environmental variables => I THINK in the ~/.csh file?

Meanwhile, Google is your friend!

The spirit of Muad'Dib is more than words, more than the letter of the Law
which arises in his name. Muad'Dib must always be that inner outrage against
the complacently powerful, against the charlatans and the dogmatic fanatics.
It is that inner outrage which must have its say because Muad'Dib taught us
one thing above all others: that humans can endure only in a fraternity of
social justice.
