Ok. You might find some ease of mind in knowing that you can get alot of the Gnome/GTK libs updated at: http://www.seerofsouls.com Hawkwind has put together a repository of Gnome 2.10 stuff that you'll be able to utilise with urpmi => I've done it and it worked great (you can't, however, update Gnome from within Gnome - so it has to be done either from a different window manager/desktop environment, or from the console). There were quite a few programs that *I* wanted to update/upgrade/install that were compile from source and that fixed my issues with the lib dependencies. Normal repositories at SoS: (cut and paste these commands into a terminal as root) urpmi.addmedia SoS-LE2005 http://seerofsouls.com/RPMS-2005/ with hdlist.cz Gnome 2.10 repositories at SoS: urpmi.addmedia SoS-Gnome http://seerofsouls.com/RPMS-Gnome-2.10/ with hdlist.cz KDE 3.4 repositories at SoS: urpmi.addmedia SoS-KDE http://seerofsouls.com/RPMS-KDE-3.4/ with hdlist.cz > 2.) They may not be installed AS OF YET, but if you make sure you have updated your urpmi sources, you'll be right as rain. Aside from the "normal" repositories, I'd definitely suggest getting "SeerofSouls" as one of your urpmi sources, along with the Gnome 2.10 repository at "SeerofSouls", and then, just to top it off, get Thac's repository at: urpmi.addmedia thacs.rpms http://rpm.nyvalls.se/10.2/RPMS with hdlist.cz There is also a page concerning fonts for Mandrake/Mandriva that I always point folks to - these instructions are particular to GTK based applications as well: http://convexhull.com/mandrake_fonts.html I'm not sure what you're wanting as far as a particular font in Mozilla/Mozilla Firefox, but I have first hand experience in the nightmare of compiling either from source. I ended up resolved to just get the Mozilla-Firefox 1.0.6 package from SoS which made things heaps more better and reduced the headache and nightmare levels sufficiently for a good day. > 3.) No, I wasn't aware of that.
