Well, I don't have 2006 but they should be located here:

/usr/src/

$> ls -l /usr/src/
total 36K
drwxr-xr-x   2 root root 4.0K Sep 16 18:35 backup-nvidia-7676/
drwxr-xr-x   4 root root 4.0K Apr 27 00:18 debug/
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root   18 Sep 18 15:22 linux -> linux-2.6.12-12mdk/
drwxr-xr-x   2 root root 4.0K Sep 11 13:33 linux-2.6.11-12mdk/
drwxr-xr-x   2 root root 4.0K Jul  2 00:35 linux-2.6.11-6mdk/
drwxr-xr-x  21 root root 4.0K Sep 20 19:26 linux-2.6.12-12mdk/
drwxr-xr-x  18 root root 4.0K Sep 16 21:29 linux-2.6.13-1ras/
drwxr-xr-x   3 root root 4.0K Apr 19 18:58 nvidia-7174/

Where /usr/src/linux is a symbolic link to your current
kernel-source

Make sure you have the kernel-source for your kernel installed

root #> rpm -qa |grep kernel
kernel-source-2.6-2.6.12-12mdk
kernel-i686-up-4GB-2.6.12.12mdk-1-1.SoS
