Perhaps there is a native Linux application you could use................

There are really only two Windoze programs that I would run. One is PAF, a
genealogy program that I use. The other is HTMLed, my html writer. Both these
are programs that "could" easily be replaced under Linux BUT I'm used to
their quirks and foibles. From what I hear Gramps is supposed to be a pretty
good genealogy program and I have played a bit with Quanta Plus. [ Quanta
seems like it might be workable. ] Neither is a complicated Windoze program.
In fact HTMLed is from back about Win95/Win3.* days. PAF probably dates from
back about the same time, Win95/Win98, with a few minor tweaks since then.

When I find a program that works like I want it to I stay with it. Most of the
newer stuff suffers code bloat and won't do things half as well.

Like my ole gran-pappy used to say: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
