The documentation on http://www1.mandrivalinux.com/en-us/ doesn't say
where to put shell scripts that you want to be started if the system
starts up. Where can I find some good documentation where to put those
shell scrpits. On FreeBSD it was /usr/local/etc/rc.d so I thought
/etcrc.d but there are more then one fiel and if i put it in rc6.d it
doens't work. There are also only linked files in that folder.
Typically, you put your start up scripts in /etc/rc.d/init.d then
create a symlink from one of the rc*.d dirs back to the script.
If you put a script in rc6.d it should have been executed. Make
sure the script is executable.

A script in /etc/rc.d/rc6.d will not normaly run. There are two problems
here. First of all, re6.d is only processed when the system reboots.
Second, the way the scripts are processed depends on the first letter of
the name. It is is an S, then it is run when entering that run level. If
it is a K, it is run when leving that run level. If it is anything else,
it is ignored.
