Mikkel, is it possible to have a keyboard mapping that could turn it on/off? I guess that means 'run a script if I prexx Ctrl-alt-something'?

Anne
It should be possible. I know on my Thinkpad, hitting shift-ScrLk functions as the Num-Lock key. It works in both CLI and GUI, but the indicator does not work in the GUI. I was trying to remember the name of a small X program that will display/control Caps-Lock and Num-Lock, but my memory isn't what it used to be. I can do a search on Google and Freshmeat if someone else doesn't remember the name. It was never that important to me, because I don't like using the numberpad layout in the normal keyboard anyway. I just make sure it is turned off, and leave it turned off when I do a laptop install.
