Right about now I can download faster on dialup from an ftp site.

The 32 bit DVD is running at an average of 9.8 kbps and the 64
bit at a somewhat better rate of 23 kbps.

Or is everyone just seeding the CDs? :)

I should have it all down in a week or so at this rate.

Oh, my download pipe is a high speed cable download capable of 2
Mbps at minimum according to my provider. So lots of bandwidth
left.

Let's get seeding here!!! :-)

Hmm, I just downloaded with an average of 200Kb/sec....

Are your ports for BT open ?
Is your upload adjusted to around 80% of your upstream bandwidth ?
Right now my Azureus is uploading at 60Kb/sec...

My ports for BT are open and I can open my upload to 80% once I finish downloading something else.

I'm using the standart BT GUI which I understand can be slow but I've never gotten Azureus to work so for now that will have to be it.

Funny thing, when I started the unrelated download the downloads on the BT files spiked up to over 40kbps on each of them for a few minutes before settling down again.

Another interesting thing is that the 32 bit download and upload has been consistently slower than the 64 bit. Are there more 64 bit users out there than we generally assume? :-)

Just a word about the *upload* setting : Of course you know it, but maybe other newbies find it confusing. The *upload* setting is in KB/s (KiloBytes/sec) whereas most ISP's announce their upstream bandwidth in Kb/s (KiloBits/sec). So in order to get the correct setting, you must divide the Kb/s with 8 to get it in KB/s. For example, if your upstream bandwidth is 512Kb/s = 64 KB/s. 80% of that = 51.2 KB/s = best upload ratio (but it doesn't hurt to experiment a little in order to get the best download).
