Thank you for answering. As a matter of fact, my unsolved issues are:
- I can't open my "trash" on either of my installations (Malformed URL
trash:/)
- Not sure if by changing urmpi source and doing some downloading if I'm
still running 2005 or 2006. How can I check it?
What does the boot splash screen look like (crap, starry-eyed penguin
-2005, more elegant penguin 2006)? Does the backgound have the word
'FREE' across it (2006)?
What version kernel are you running? (type 'uname -r' in a terminal,
2.6.12-12 2006, earlier 2005).
Are you running KDE or Gnome - which version are they?
If you've installed
- Also asked for users printing on HPLaserJet1020 or CanonLBP1120 but
seem no one is using them but got some feedback about where to look for
info
Print manager lists Canon LBP 1120 capt, but not the HP. However, HP
lasers should be no problem.
- Still having issues configuring my winmodems (using a real modem was
sugested but trying to make mines work could be a good learning
experience)
Was the Linmodem link I gave you no use to you?
Since you asked, another issue I'm cluless about is the following:
When I first installed three partitions where created (/,/swap,/home)
and /home has its own 10GB partition. All of the sudden that partition
was not avaiable and home was part of /.
After formatin my 10GB again, I was asked to "move" my home to my new
drive and I think it worked, but what it really did was creating a new
home and somehow my box think the old one is the default one. How do I
solve this issue?
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer any of the mentioned
issues.
If you've installed 2005 and upgraded using cooker, there *may* be
several difficulties.
It might be wise to start over again using 2006 (you did keep a record
of everything you did, didn'y you?)
