Not much help here...yet.
What is known is that /etc/resolv.conf is getting reset/rewritten on a regular 
basis after vmware is configured.  Since, this wasn't a problem with earlier 
MDK/MDV releases, can any one suggest what has changed regarding control of 
of /etc/resolv.conf in 2006?
