Wonderful! Someone who wilfully ignores list rules himself is now

I'll second that, Margot. As an oldtimer on this list - going back
to Mdk 7.1 - I have always enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, i.e. the
technical stuff spiced with the occasional humor and OT jokes. Do
you remember good, ol' Civileme ? - Especially the friendly tone
and the non-flaming of newcomers. - Even newcomers who
immediately promote themselves to list-Nazis ;-)

Cheers...

As a similar veteran here, I share that opinion.

If anything it's this list that makes Mandriva newbie friendly and actualy one of the best assets Mandriva's got.
Without it Mdv would just be a distro (and not even the best) like the rest.

Let's keep as it is/was: Tolerant (lightly) to OT's, ignorance, stupidity and even top-posters (as long as they snip-down well enough). I can only remember 2 to 3 cases of people actualy going over the top and getting kicked/cold_shouldered in all those years.

As a newbie I can only express surprise and shock that people are greeted like this. Until now, one of mandriva's best recommendations was it's mailing list. I can only question if some people really *do* want mandriva to be used.
