I like both, although I've had a skosh more time with NVU. Both are
quite nice. NVU has a nice graphical mode that doesn't add extra codes.
To me that's a plus. Most graphical editors add WAY to much extra stuff
and make the pages unnecessarily large. Large pages load slow on slow
connections. Mostly it's just a matter of getting used to where the
buttons are.
My usual editor is a text based editor [ been using it since Windows 3.1
and Dos 6 ]. I like the idea I can click a button and add html coding,
especially if they are longish codes. If the editor adds the code it
means I have less chance of making errors. Only for VERY simple pages
would I use something like kate. I've been playing with NVU because it's
newer. HTMLed is still HTML3. Getting a little long in the tooth.
