My Kingston stick is not working normally in 2005LE either.
It shows in a graphical filemanager, I see it communicating. It shows as
/mnt/Kingston, but no data is on it when I go to the device. As I cannot
open an xterm I also cannot figure out anything from the CLI...

Paul,
I think your problem is your 2005LE setup. A lot of things are not
going to work right until udev is working properly.
