Hmm. Dont like this "helpful" version :(
then lower your msec setting, in a console, as root, without the quotes " msec 1". one is good enough for a regular user, with dialup, that is not on line 24/7, much safer than windows and tons of security add on software. then you will/should be able to log out via the GUI
