I went to View, but there was no "Show Hidden Files." It turns out - in my ignorance of profile usage - that I was still using the Web Browsing profile. For file management, I had discovered that pressing F9 would bring up the tree view of folders in a left pane, and selecting any folder would bring the desired file info in the right pane. Worked fine for basic file management and I had mistakenly believed that it also automatically put me into the file management profile. > >Second, when I launch Konqueror for use as a web browser, it always > > shows in the Location toolbar and tries to connect to a website address > > that I rarely use. However, what I really want to do, is have it come up without showing any URL or attempting to load one, which IE and Firefox do if you specify "about:blank" as the launch URL. I tried blanking the URL and then saving to the Web Browsing profile. Also tried blanking the URL in the Settings > Configure Konqueror > Behavior > Home URL field. In both when I next launched Konqueror, it came up with the last actual URL previously in the Home URL field. This isn't really a problem, merely a minor nuisance, but if anybody has any ideas off the top of their head . . . . Terry
