According to errata, there appears to be some issue with ACPI and log rotation that causes this particular issue at least once per week, when log rotation occurs. I don't think that there is a fix currently but the workaround appears to be to disable acpi/acpid daemon, or to Shut down X while the log rotation runs. Or, simply restart X after log rotation runs. Not sure if this is your problem or not but the High CPU usage certain occurs on my machines that have ACPI enabled. I have taken to either disabling the daemons where the machines in question aren't laptops so they don't need that functionality, or insuring that X is not running early morning hours when the log rotation hits. If anyone else has a particular solution to this problem, I would love to know what it is. Of course, that may not be your problem. ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
