Where: section 1 is commands section 2 is system calls section 3 is library functions section 4 is special files section 5 is file formats section 6 is games section 7 is conventions and miscellany section 8 is administration and privileged commands section 9 is kernel interface Some man pages appear in more then one section (e.g. read), and man defaults to the lowest number section, so to get a man page from a higher section you have to specify it in the man command, e.g.: "man 2 read" to get the section 2 read man page. -larry ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
