I had the same thing on Mdk 10.1. After some experimentation, I determined that the cddb server url (Extras -> Configure KsCD -> freedb) should be: freedb.freedb.org The 8880 port is correct. Enter the server url exactly as I've shown, no "http://" or other protocol (okay, technically, without a protocol, it's not a url, but I didn't know what else to call it 8^). KsCD already knows to use the "cddb://" protocol. The KsCD people seem to be pointing it to the freedb home page by default, instead of to the database itself.
