I am not sure if properly managing the mailing list is too
technical for their support people, or if they feel that the
free support given on the lists if too much competition for
the paid support. In ether case, the way they handle the lists
is sure giving them some bad advertising. After all, if they
can not manage their own mailing list, what makes you think
they can provide support for their server products.
On the other hand, it may be that they don't care what potential
costumers think. I have run into that before - a company tells
their costumers that if they don't like the service, don't buy
from us.
In ether case, it is looking more and more like it is time to
say goodbye to Mandriva, and find another distribution to play
with. At this point, I will not bother to re-subscribe if I do
get unsubscribed! So if you don't see any more posts from me,
you will know what happened.

Personally I've not been unsubscribed (yet), but it is very clear to me that
the company is decaying, what with the mess on their website (difficult to
find anything), the list problems, and the general contempt for the
community. I've been here since 7.0 and the only reason I'm staying is this
very community. The distro in itself is fine, IMHO. But the
company..... :-(
Maybe it's just the usual French attitude : arrogance, neglect, sloppiness and
"laisséz faire". IMO we could go on just fine without this "management".
Either way, I will not renew my club (silver) membership.
