I tried it out, Samba server to a samba client (I do not have any Windows
machines to try it with)

I could mount a share (/home/derek/smb4k/MYTH/mythvideo/test/' directory )
with smb4k and browse to it with konqueror no problem. I could read and write
to files in that directory.

Also I could use smb://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/mythvideo/test/' directory and read
and
write to the folder OK

So unless its something to do with a Windows client then I do not know why you
are having problems.

Did you try quoting the apostrophe with
smb://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/mythvideo/test/\' directory

That also works for me.

I was using samba-client-3.0.20-3mdk
