Is there an equivalent to Microsoft Publisher in Linux?
As usual, I bought my wife a new computer with XP for Christmas.
She has Microsoft Office or whatever, because she was a teacher.
The updates seem to have seriously broke Publisher.
I have been trying to get her to try Linux for several years and this
might be the straw that broke the camels back.
Any help is appreciated.

For those of us who have never chosen to use M$ products <g> - is Publisher a DTP package? If so, it depends on what she is doing with it. If all you need is frame-based layout, you can do that quite well in kword. If you want something nearer to full DTP, try scribus. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good. It takes a while to find your way around, but most things are possible.

part of the problem with publisher is the M$ proprietary file format publisher uses/ writes to, nothing else can use it's files.
