Many of us are on both lists anyway. Some very useful people seem to be
'experts' on most subjects, and I hope that there will still be
occasional 'total newbies' who are trying Linux for the first time, but
most of the people on both of the lists who are reasonably knowledgeable
about some things are newbies at things they haven't tried before.

The newbie list has become so quiet ( I don't belong to expert) that
merging seems logical to me, to keep users together. I suppose I have
some reservations that expert users may become frustrated at newbie-type
questions.
