Hi all,

It is so strange. I still don't know what the problem really IS, but the
problem is inside the libc-2.3.5.so file in /lib/i686.

I booted from DVD into rescue mode. I rm'd the symlink libc.so.6, mv'd
libc-2.3.5.so to libc-2.3.5.so_org. Then I cp'd libc-2.3.5.so from /lib
into /lib/i686 and created a new symlink called libc.so.6.

After that I rebooted the machine. Lo' and behold... I now have Jboss
4.0.3 running, and Firefox has no problem with java-applets.

I don't get it, since others with Mandriva2006 don't recognise this
problem. At least I found a fix to the problem. The alternative (setting
up Suse10) would be a lot more tedious.

Paul
