Are we talking about a modem connected to a phone line, or a so called cable modem (which is not actually a modem), or an adsl modem. To find out if it can be made to work in MDV you Will need to know the type of controller chip that is in it in order to find out what drivers it needs. try connecting it to your machine and boot, or reboot then go into MDV control centre- hardare and let us know what the hardware manager see's it as.
