Do you know if its a full modem or a win modem ? Try connecting it to your serial port (while the machine is switched off) and go into MDV's control centre - hardware. and have a look at what MDV has seen it as. If its a full modem any linux distro will see it as a modem. if its a win modem (software type) it may appear under "un known others". Copy and past the details into an email and post to the list. Software modems save production costs by emulating the modem chip in software rather than having a chip on the modem board. I kept my external modem which I used on my linux (smoothwall) firewall after upgrading to a cable connection as it was com patable with Linux and my Psion S5. (You may also need a null modem adaptor, though I might have needed that for the Psion not quite sure) registered Linux user number 414240 Guy Faulks the only person to enter the Parliament with honest intentions and he was going to blow them up ! --------------------------------------------- Free POP3 Email from www.Gawab.com Sign up NOW and get your account @gawab.com!! ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
