On mine it is /usr/bin/realplay - I haven't downloaded bitdefender
and I downloaded realplayer but not from an rpm so it may not apply.
In general there are a few ways to search for things ... you can get
the contents of a package with the rpm -qpl <rpm file>
which will list the contents of the package you specify. Then you
can look for any executables which generally go in to a bin directory
so try something like
rpm -qpl <your rpm file> | grep bin
which will list any executables that went into bin directories
A second approach if this doesn't help is that you could search the
bin directories for any executables for parts of the name
e.g.
ls /usr/bin /bin /sbin /usr/sbin | grep -i real
The -i on grep means ignore case which is useful as you are not sure what
you are looking for. /usr/bin is a good place to look for user installed
binaries
/sbin or /usr/sbin for system binaries, and also check /bin.
If in doubt, you can always do a search over the whole filesystem using find
e.g. as root
find / -iname "*real*"
but make sure you get out of root as soon as you are done. The -iname
"*real*"
means any files with the word real in them regardless of case. Make sure
you include
the double quotes around the *'s otherwise the shell will interpret them
instead.
If you know the name of the executable (in this case probably realplay) then
type
which realplay
to see what it comes back with.
And for fun and amusement you can type
ls /bin /usr/bin /sbin /usr/sbin | wc
and the first number is the number of executables in those directories
(over 3000 on mine
- amazing what you get with linux!! I wonder what they all do)
