What type of system are you trying to connect to, Linux, Solaris, etc? Are you able to admin that system to make necessary security compromises in order to get rexec working (a really bad idea, btw). - Have you checked that the rexec daemon is running? - Is is a standalone daemon or being forked forked from inetd? - Are tcpwrappers involved? - Have you checked the hosts.[allow,deny] files? - Are there firewall rules (ipfwadm/ipchains/iptables/etc.) running on the system? Btw, have you considered using ssh instead of rexec? It's much safer!
