It never got fixed, I thought I fixed it but I didn't.  I made a
.xinitrc file in my home dir instead and put the 'exec startkde' in
there instead of changing the line in the .xinitrc in the
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/ directory.  I thought that fixed it but after
going into KDE a few more times after trying to quit my whole screen
slowly went white again. Ideas?
