RH72 can be either 4.1.0 or 3.x.x ("x" here means any number. Why do you not try this? XFree86 -version > Second: assume I have XFree 4.0.x and I want to upgrade to XFree 4.1.0, > where can I download XFree 4.1.0 and How can I install it? Unless something is wrong with your current installation, don't upgrade. This is a general rule with software (for me, anyway), and besides XFree86 4.2.0 has just come out on the ftp. > Third: consider me a stupid newbie and, please, tell me very clearly > step-by-step how to Install ATI-4.x.x.i386.tar.gz. I believe this is the updated driver for TV in/out and DVD acceleration. Do you need any of those features? > Fourth: Have I to compile Kernel? If yes, how? Fortunately, you don't need this to upgrade XFree86. Cheers! Guilhem. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Great stuff seeking new owners in Yahoo!
