Hello,
I've been working to try to improve the "look" of programs such as
Netscape. I'm not talking about the age-old Netscape font rendering problem but
rather the fonts used on the menu-bar, etc.
I'm currently running XFree86-4.2.0 on a Radeon AIW 32MB PCI card and
Mandrake 8.0. I've enabled anti-aliasing for KDE and the fonts used for the
desktop/task bar/etc look excellent! I've selected to "Use KDE fonts for non-KDE
applications" or words to that effect, but Netscape still doesn't quite look
right.
One suggestion was to enable 100dpi fonts by editing the Xservers file so
the line to add the option -dpi 100 to the end of the line :0 local
/usr/X11R6/bin/X. However, this line already has a -deferglyphs 16 which, from
what I've read, is for deferring rendering of some characters to <something
else>.
What should I do?
