There's no need for you to worry about the MBR.  As I've already said, the
installation of LILO does that automatically.  `man lilo` for the option
that will tell it to restore the MBR it saved, which will cause it to be
taken out of the boot process.  You can then remove LILO using Slackware's
package manager.

But, again, only do this AFTER you have a bootdisk working properly.
