I hadn't heard that XFree86 had support for any of the Oxygen series cards. I know that there is commercial support from Xi Graphics (http://www.xig.com/Pages/Atop/CardIndividualSupportSpec/3Dlabs-IndiviaualCards/VX1.html).
But I have no knowledge of the quality or any experience with their drivers.
