Subject: [Newbie]XFree86 errors on Compaq ProLiant 5000 running RedHat 8.0

I just installed Redhat linux 8.0 on a Compaq ProLiant 5000. I can't go into Graphical mode because I am having trouble with XFree86. The video card adapter is a Cirrus Logic 64xx / 54xx. I am using xf86config to configure the XF86Config file. Is there a better way to do this?
When I run xf86config to configure the XF86Config, it wirtes the file fine. But, when I run startx or XFree86 or X, one of the errors I get is:
Fatal server error:
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0
