[NEWBIES] Finding Last Amt Given

Hi-

I am trying to generate thank you letters for contributions and membership
dues.  In the letters we would like to specify the last amt
donated--regardless of whether it was a contribution or dues.  Is there a
field in the "File Export" function that will allow me to do this?  I have
tried "find last amount", "find last mbr amount", and "last amount".
