Hello. I have tried SO MANY different approaches to install ebase as well.

I have dumped my Stuffit preferences, per Bob's advice (see below).
I have downloaded a new version of Stuffit (and have tested to make sure it works on
other files).
I have checked my Internet Config app to make sure that Stuffit was set as the binhex
decoder.
I have downloaded a version of Decoder, per Bob's advice (see below), and Decoder
couldn't recognize the file.
I have downloaded new version of Netscape.
I have downloaded a .sea version of the ebase installer from a very nice newbies
person, but that file won't launch - it now claims an error type 199 has occurred.
Before it wouldn't do anything except claim that the application that created it could
not be found.

One weird thing - in the Internet Config "File Mappings" section, Stuffit Expander is
associated with .hqx files, but the icon is just a grey page, just like the ebase.hqx
file (and NOT like other Stuffit citations elsewhere). When I choose to change this
setting, a window appears with much information:
Name: BinHex
Extension: .hqx
Mime Type: application/mac-binhex40
"plain text" is the dot chosen of 3 options
"not for incoming" and "not for outgoing" are NOT checked
File Type: TEXT
File Creator: "R*ch" then in next field "Stuffit Expander"
Post Process box is checked (SITx) then in next field "Stuffit Expander" is identified.

Is this set up wrong?

I am on a MAC powerbook. I am completely baffled and totally frustrated. I am
volunteering for the Los Angeles Bicycle Coalition, trying to help them improve their
database scenario, and was really hoping ebase could help.

Please - one last round of assistance, if there is any to be had.

Sabrina
