Given it is installed on a stable machine with adequate hard drive space,
memory etc ebase and FileMaker are reliable tools.  No database is totally
safe from crashes, we recommend you make regular backups. Not so much
because "ebase crashes a lot" but because the value of the data in your
database is so great.

If ebase is peer to peer hosted on a network we recommend that the host
machine not be used for anything else. (that is not be used as someone's
workstation while it is acting as a host to network users).   Please read
