[NEWBIES] FMP peer to peer

I am interested in learning about whether other small offices run e-base and
FMP 5 on a peer to peer system. We only have 4 computer stations and cannot
afford the FMP Server.  Can we meet our needs with peer to peer without fear
of crashing? Thanks,
