[NEWBIES] bad source codes

Help!

How do I get rid of source codes I don't want? I've made some changes 
in some stock letters and I want to get rid of the old source codes, 
not just have them hanging around taking up space in the pulldown 
menu. I've been through the manual, through the Quicktour, and I 
can't find anything that specifically addresses my situation.

Can anybody out there give me a hand?
