Hi, Martijn
In my case, we want to minimize internet traffic as much as possible, so binary protocol will be best solution for us. I tried to use tiles in the other project (Google Maps, as a test case) and it was very sensitive for bandwidth and hard drive. For example, a small city at all details level can occupy more than 2 GB of disk space. BTW, vector data is also needed for routing.
