Ciao Enzo, we had the case in Switzerland. The Kanton Solothurn supplied it's mapping data and imported into OSM in September/October. The result was annoying for the importer. Ther were mistakes, the ways did not connect to existing nodes nor to each other, a lot of data edited manually was overlaid by the imported data. The thread on the talk-de list was unfriendly.
I think Horst could have had more fun if he'd got into contact with someone more experienced. All in all it was frustrating for him - which was completely unnecessary. Read this: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Automated_Edits/Code_of_Conduct If you like to get in touch with him, write a message to hdus. He used the shp2osm.pl and found that it was not perfectly fit for the job.
