I support new specific tag for the reasons stated by ael.

The river is only about 3 metres wide here, and the blocks are too small to mark individually. The crossing certainly isn't designated. Nevertheless this is a significant crossing because it is the only way to cross onto a largish "island", between two branches of a river. The other branch is rather bigger. I want to mark this accurately with disabled users in mind. If it is just marked as a footway (pathfoot was a typo?) then someone in a wheel chair, for example, has no chance. Even an ordinary walker will want to be warned that appropriate clothing and shoes are needed. As far as I can see, we don't have a tag for this sort of thing. A new tag, "stepping_stones" seems like an obvious choice? ael >> I have just mapped a place where substantial blocks have been laid in >> a river to form stepping stones. It probably needs "water=low" as _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/newbies
