Richard, Thanks for your reply.
I took a look at the wiki page for "man_made=silo" (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Silo) after receiving your suggestion. It says, in part, "A silo is a storage container for bulk material." According to Wikipedia, a grain elevator is "A grain elevator is a tower containing a bucket elevator, which scoops up, elevates, and then uses gravity to deposit grain in a silo or other storage facility." It goes on to say that the term usually is used to describe the entire facility (e.g. the elevator itself, associated silos, receiving and shipping equipment, etc). While a grain elevator will usually have one or more silos, I don't think that tag captures the full scope of what a grain elevator is. It would be somewhat akin to tagging an entire chemical plant "man_made=storage_tank." In the rural U.S., and I suspect in other parts of the world, these are important facilities.
