ok
i installed redhat 9.0 shortly before the installfest. everything went
smoothly. but now, whenever i get rpms, i find that i am missing
libraries. so then i thought, "hey, i'll just download those." and
then i found i needed libraries to install the libraries.
so in the midst of my frustrations, someone told me about apt-get.
sounds cool, huh? but wait.....i also heard rumor that redhat 9 doesn't
support apt-get. and on top of that, freshrpms.net is down.....
so where does that leave me?

(examples of what i'm trying to install: mplayer, fidelio, et al)
any tips/suggestions would be much appreciated.

thanks,
ben jensen
