I can't get my gentoo CD to boot because of this error. The gentoo guy told me it was because of my buggy BIOS. I belive that my BIOS is buggy. Today the gentoo people mailed me saying that some of their recently shipped CD's were corrupted because of some driver issues, and I found this thread:

How can you rewrite something that is permanently etched in silicon?
