When do you set the DISPLAY variable? I've never used Cygwin, so I'm not
exactly sure how you use it, but in my experience with ssh you don't set the
DISPLAY variable. If you're setting it after you connect, you probably don't
want to do that. When I ssh into a remote machine, the DISPLAY on that
machine is something like 'localhost:10.0'. Display 10 is the 'virtual'
display, if you will, that forwards to your local machine, you don't want to
change that.
