[newbies] recent viruses - linux risk

Is there any risk of the recent worms infecting linux boxes.  I got 
emails back from some mail servers saying that emails were sent from 
"me" to addresses I've never seen before with the virus and that they 
were blocked.

If I am at risk, what software can I download for virus detection.  
Until now, I banked on most virused being written to run on Windows and 
that immunity.
