Here's what we'll need first:

1. Is it a PS/2 (circular connector) or a USB mouse?
2. Do "ls -l /dev/mouse" and send us the output.
3. Do "lsmod" and send us the output too.
4. Do "grep Device /etc/X11/XF86Config" and send us the output from
that.  If you get a "no such file or directory, then try 
"grep Device /etc/X11/XF86Config-4" instead.
