I believe I'm the one that helped you install on saturday. I changed something
in the mouse config to get it to work with the mouse we had there and I
forgot to change it back. Sorry :( Anyway, if I remember right, there was
a line in the mouse section...
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
I changed IMPS/2 to be just PS/2, so try editing the config file
/etc/X11/XF86Config
and change it back to 'IMPS/2', that will probably work, but can't be sure since
we hadn't tested it with your mouse. Like was said in the other reply, you'll
probably have to Ctr+Alt+F1 to get to a terminal, login as root there, and
edit the file. You can use vim or emacs (or something else if you know one) to
edit it, but I can only tell you what to do in vim. So if you use vim, just
remember 'i' to get into 'insert' mode and you can edit the file just like
notepad and the like, then when you're done press escape to get out of insert
mode, and from there you can press ':x<return>' to save and exit. Once you've
done that, press Ctr+Alt+F7 (go back to terminal 7, the X terminal) and press
Ctr+Alt+<backspace> to restart the X server. Hope that works.
