Hey,
I finally got the ethernet and sound working on my HP ZD7000 laptop by upgrading
from Fedora Core 1 to Mandrake 10. I think it was the new kernel and included
ALSA that helped those prolems, however I still can't get the wireless (802.11g)
working. I found in a few forums that people were able to get it to work using
the new version of ndiswrapper. The only thing is, I don't know how to install
it. I've no idea how to form the command line syntax, and all the instructions
I've found are over my head. If someone could offer me pretty simple
command-by-command directions for installing and configuring ndiswrapper I would
greatly appreciate it. I know how to move around the directory structure in a
terminal, but I don't know how to install or make things or stuff like that.
Thanks in advance for helping me with this roadblock to my newbie enthusiasm.
David
btw, I think I read on another online forum that Mandrake 10 comes with an older
ndiswrapper and it needs to be removed first with all it's configuration
files... I'll bet I can't just delete the directory...
