I am curious if I could add SSL to my Apache configuration, without getting a specially configured Apache + SSL package (ie http://www.apache-ssl.org/). I have tried this approach before and it worked well, except for it was using an older version of Apache and also I now have a good working Apache + PHP + MySQL setup and would prefer not to mess with it too much. Could I somehow setup SSL separately and then setup some sort of SSL tunnel/proxy to my current Apache setup?
