This campaign has not been as entertaining as I had hoped it would be.
The whole SCO++ dialog has been alright, but I thought that I'd be
reading some more interesting things about myself. So, in order to
provide more entertainment for the readers of this list, I am now
verifying my candidacy for the UUG presidential campaign.

My esteemed opponent from Washington has compared me to some soggy soy
product and questioned my meeting attendance. I'm sorry to say that I
have still not tasted tofu yet. As for my dedication to the UUG, I have
attended every single meeting since I have been a member, except for Mr.
Holt's presentation earlier this month. Even though I was not able to
attend, I did my best to support the event by supplying the binary grab
bag item.

As I was going to work this morning, I wasn't in the Talmadge building
for more that a couple minutes before being accosted by TuxGirl. She
informed me that she had a hitman that I should be watching out for, and
she even made some veiled threats of a nuclear strike executed by some
of her Iranian relatives. After threatening me, she had the audacity to
suggest that we make some sort of secret agreement to join our forces
against the campaign of SCO++. While I do not support the platform of
SCO++, I refuse to undermine the power of the populous by giving them a
legitimate, competitive campaign.

I have since learned that TuxGirl is working to find "dirt" on me. She
has even begun to spread ridiculous rumors that I am a member of the
French Club! I unequivocally state right now, that I am not, nor have I
ever been, a member of ANY French Club. Not here at BYU, nor any other
organization.

She has also attempted to use my personal website as ammunition against
me. If you missed that email, check it out for yourself.
http://students.cs.byu.edu/~javert42/ I am not ashamed of its contents,
not even the "wiggin'" page. (It appears that TuxGirl was not
perceptive enough to find that one.)

My name is Topher Fischer, and I am running for UUG president. After an
age of ruthless dictatorship (which TuxGirl refuses to acknowledge), I
will bring a balance to the club. I am a Free Software proponent, but
not a raving zealot. I bring the calm, cool reason that is necessary
for such a public office. I will work to increase the active membership
of our organization, and see that the meetings continue to improve. I
will buy the pizza for the first club meeting that I lead as your new
President.
